Product Details

Narcissus “Giclée” 8W-W (unregistered)

One of the largest plants in the collection, this white tazetta is good for a mid-late November landscape statement. It doesn’t have the regimented uniformity of growth habit as with ‘Artist’s Palette’ or ‘Bas-relief’, but its impressively stout stem holds up just fine as a cut flower. Too, its florets are of the same average size as ‘Artist’s Palette’ and ‘Bas-relief’. The coronas open a pale citron but fade very quickly, particularly in late fall heat. As with most of the white tazettas, it has a very light scent but the pollinators are attracted all the same. Collected from an old garden site near Natchez, Mississippi, whose owners had a steadfast penchant for planting white tazettas along the borders of the garden beds. Of unknown fertility and has yet to set seed, but it likely produces a smattering of fertile pollen grains.

NOTE: The Sara Van Beck tazetta and paperwhite daffodils are generally not hardy in cold climates with freezing winters. In frost-free climates (zones 8-11) these bulbs may be safely planted outdoors in autumn for late winter flowers. In colder climates with freezing winters, they are easily grown indoors for flowers during the winter months. Learn more at www.heirloomtazettas.com.
