Back in the day, tazettas came in a wider array of “aesthetics” in appearance than what became the standard “look” in the twentieth century, and this delicate flower falls into one such lost aesthetic. A smaller flower with a narrow corona, narrow oblong petals, and a slight reflex, it is more suggestive of Queen Anne’s Lace than ‘Avalanche’. The tall, narrower foliage lends it a willowy appearance in the garden. Blooms high to late winter (early to mid-January). As it is prone to excessive bulb division, a deeper planting depth is beneficial. Unknown fertility. Collected from an old garden site in the Natchez, Mississippi area.
