Minimum Order

$35.00 (excluding shipping and applicable sales tax).  All additional orders, including those using a free shipping coupon, require a $35.00 minimum purchase.

Pricing

Pricing is per bulb unless otherwise noted in the product listing.  At checkout, a discount of 10% is automatically applied to all orders of $250.00 or more.

Multiple Orders

The PHS catalog is divided into the following seasonal categories:  1) Early Autumn (Acis, Colchicum, Galanthus, autumn-flowering Narcissus, Oxalis, etc.), and 2) Late Autumn (spring-flowering Narcissus and Tulips).  Due to different shipping schedules, these two seasonal categories require separate shipping fees.  For customers who have already placed an order and wish to order more in the same calendar year and from the same seasonal category, you may use the discounted shipping coupon code ORDERMORE to deduct additional base-rate shipping (the $35.00 minimum purchase still applies).

Discounted Shipping Coupon and Gift Certificate Codes

Click the “redeem your code” hyperlink at checkout and enter the shipping code or gift certificate code in the respective field.  The code must be entered into the correct field to work.  You must enter this information prior to checkout.  Do not enter coupon and gift card codes in the “gratis suggestions and special delivery information” field as they will not be calculated.  We will not refund base-rate shipping if the shipping coupon codes are improperly entered, and we will not refund PayPal transaction fees on refunds for incorrectly entered gift card codes.  Using the shipping coupon code for free shipping on your first order of the 2026 season will cancel your order, and you will not be refunded the PayPal transaction fees. Additionally, a check ($1.50) and postage ($.82) fee of $2.32 will be deducted from all refunds issued for cancellations. Refunds are only issued via check, not PayPal. See Cancellation and Refunds.

Tax Exemption

For orders to qualify for tax exemption, customers must meet Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and State of Missouri Department of Revenue (MO-DOR) requirements and must provide this information to PHS Daffodils.

To receive tax exemption, the following documentation must be submitted:

1) Completed and signed hard copy IRS form W-9 (requires an EIN). Please do not include a social security number.
2) Completed and signed hard copy MO-DOR form MO-149 (applies to all states).

The completed forms must be emailed or mailed to PHS Daffodils (P.O. Box 6061, St. Louis, MO 63139). Once we receive this information you will receive a full tax refund via check for all tax paid at checkout.

Payment

Payment options at checkout are PayPal or mailing a personal check or money order.  We love receiving checks, as they save us a whole lot of online transaction fees! Please make checks payable to PHS Daffodils and mail to P.O. Box 6061, St. Louis, MO 63139-0061.  Your order’s place in line will be secured when you complete the online order, regardless of payment method. Checks and money orders must be received within ten business days of placing your order to avoid order cancellation.  If paying by check or money order, please write your order number in the check’s note field.

Gift Certificates

Digital gift certificates are available year-round on the PHS Store page.  The purchaser of the gift certificate will be emailed a unique code to be shared with the recipient.  To redeem the digital gift certificate, click the “redeem your code” hyperlink to the left of or below the “checkout” tab prior to checkout and enter the code in the gift certificate field. Do not enter the gift certificate’s code in the “gratis suggestions and special delivery information” field, as it will not be calculated.  We will not refund PayPal transaction fees on refunds for incorrectly applied gift certificate codes.  Only one gift certificate may be used per order. Please redeem gift certificates within two years of purchase.

Cancellations and Refunds

Orders may be cancelled for a refund within 10 days of ordering (excluding associated PayPal transaction fees that are not refunded); thereafter, we will only refund 50% of the order’s gross value (pre-discount, as applicable) if cancelled prior to the order being pulled for processing (excluding associated PayPal transaction fees). Once you receive a processing notification, all sales are final and no refunds will be issued, no exception. Refunds are made via check, not via PayPal.  A check ($1.50) and postage ($.82) fee of $2.32 will be deducted from all refunds issued for cancellations. Refunds are only issued via check, not PayPal.

Shipping and Handling

We process and ship all orders in the order received, not by hardiness zone, no exceptions.  We cannot guarantee a specific delivery date and cannot ship any bulb earlier than our stated shipping season.  Categorically, the Early Autumn orders will go out first, during September; Late Autumn will begin shipping the second week of October. What if the weather suddenly becomes cold and you haven’t received your order?  Don’t panic.  We wouldn’t be mailing orders into late October and November to colder climates if it wasn’t safe to ship and still plant the products.

Planting Upon Arrival

Your dormant bulbs need to be planted upon arrival, or as soon thereafter as possible. For the Early Autumn products, plant soon for what may be immediate flowering. For Late Autumn products, plant prior to the soil freezing deeply, anytime from mid-late October through December or even into early January, depending on your climate, providing ideally 12 weeks before anticipated flowering.  Open the parcel to allow your bulbs fresh air and store them in a dark, cool, well-ventilated area until you are ready to plant.  For warmer climates, your spring-flowering bulbs will likely need stratifying for the best results.  We cannot guarantee that the Early Autumn products will not flower during transit; this is beyond our control and will not affect the product’s viability and long-term success.

Condition and Size

All products mailed to you are free of pests, soil, and to the best of our knowledge as they are annually inspected, free of disease.  All products sold are flowering size and, unless otherwise noted, are top size as they grow and are harvested.

NOTE:  Our products grown in Midwestern heavy Hoyleton loam produce smaller plants overall.  Our bulbs are generally smaller than what you may receive from Dutch importers; some, however, are naturally diminutive.  Ultimately our products are no less healthy and vigorous and are ready to provide many years of beauty in your garden.  We wouldn’t send them to you if we wouldn’t be happy to receive them.

Treatment

Our production is conducted in an environmentally conscious manner.  Insecticidal and fungicidal applications, if warranted, use only OMRI-listed (Organic Materials Review Institute) products.  However, depending on field capacity and humidity conditions at the time of digging, a 10% chlorine dip may be employed to prevent rot issues whilst curing. During summer, fall, and winter months we allow our no-till fields to fully grow with natural cover from native and other wild plants, somewhat mimicking the natural daffodil environment.  This provides a rich, nourishing, and protective habitat for our pollinators and other wildlife.  We endeavor to be the best stewards possible of this precious, wild space (see our posts on Instagram).

NOTE:  PHS Daffodils uses recycled and repurposed shipping boxes and packing material.  If a physical vinyl label is included, the PHS product name is handwritten in black marker.  We include in your parcel only your ordered products and a copy of your order, with nothing else, to save money and the environment at once (specific planting guidelines are hyperlinked in the Planting section).  Please recycle your boxes and the packing material.

Substitutions

We endeavor to fulfill every order as received.  However, depending on the harvest and summer curing outcome, some products may prove unsuitable at shipping time.  In this event we will happily refund your money or provide a substitution of equal or greater value.  Please indicate on your order which option you prefer.

Our Imagery

Unless otherwise noted, all photos on our website and social media feeds were taken by us and are our domain.  With photo credit given, we are happy to share hi-res images.  We do not use filters or color enhancements in any way.  Whenever possible we try to show the full range of an individual variety’s color and morphological nuances throughout the life of the flower as it grows for us.  To that end, the flowers are photographed in the field, on the spot, regardless of weather and lighting conditions in that moment.  We do not supplement lighting or clean or prep the flowers in any way, taking the most natural approach possible.   It is important to note that climate, weather, soil nutrition, available moisture during bud set and flowering stages, and light exposure can greatly impact the flower’s color and, in some cases, its morphological characteristics. Daffodils may experience subtle to dramatic color metamorphoses during flowering:  pinks often open yellow and greenish-orange; reverse bicolors often open all yellow before the corona turns white; and many white varieties open with some degree of yellow throughout the flower or take on yellowish tones upon maturity.  Some years, normally solid-colored cups manifest rims; doubles may be ultra-full, loosely- packed, or doubled only in the corona; and “toothed” or “crispa” varieties—those with knobby, hooked, and jagged ruffling on the corona’s flange—can be subtle to greatly exaggerated.  Frosts and freezes can create puckered or creped textured petals.  We like to think these variables keep things interesting.  Please be mindful of these potentials during the first year as your new plants settle into their new environment, and please make use of our photos for comparison.  Thank you to Rose Bradley, Eric Breed, Julie Martin, and Hein Meeuwissen for contributing photos.

Guarantee

We only guarantee varieties to be accurately named; otherwise, all sales are final.  One’s environmental factors (such as soil and exposure), climatic factors (such as extremes of heat and cold, and seasonal droughts and flooding), and cultural factors (such as planting techniques and annual maintenance factors) are beyond our control.
